Apple and Kale Puree

Ingredients

  • 4 gala apples , peeled, cored, and roughly chopped
  • 1/2 cup kale , roughly chopped

Steps

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring 2 inches of water to a boil over medium heat. Place the chopped apples into a steamer basket over the boiling water. Cover and steam for 9 minutes, or until apples are tender when pricked with a fork.
  2. Place the kale over the apples. Cover and steam for an additional minute. Let cool, and reserve steamer water.
  3. Puree all ingredients in a blender or food processor for 1-2 minutes until smooth. If you find the puree too thick, add some of the reserved water, breast milk, or formula to the mixture until you reach your desired consistency.
