Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 tsp Sugar
- 2 tsp baking powder
- ½ tsp salt
- ¾ cup extra-sharp cheddar cheese, chredded
- 1½ cups heavy cream
Steps
- Preheat the oven to 425°F. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in ½ cup of cheddar cheese. Add 1 ¼ cups heavy cream, and continue to stir using a wooden spoon until a dough forms. Turn out the dough onto a working surface, leaving dry, floury bits in the bowl.
- Add the reminaing ¼ cup cream, a tbsp at a time, to the bowl; mix well with the wooden spoon after each addition, until the dry bits are moistened. Add the moistened bits to the dough, kneading them in by hand until smooth.
- Pat the dough into an 8-inch circle. Cut into 8 wedges, and transfer onto prepared baking sheet. Bake for 7 to 9 minutes, or until wedges are just beginning to brown. Remove from oven, and sprinkle each biscuit with 1½ tsp cheddar. Rotate the sheet, and return to the oven to bake until golden brown and cheese has melted, about 7 to 9 minutes. Serve warm.
