You can drink coffee with caution while pregnant - not more than a cup a day. Coffee has caffeine which can speed up your heartbeat and increase blood pressure, which may result in dizziness and nausea.
Coffee intake should be controlled and in moderation when in the post-partum recovery stage. Drinking coffee may cause accelerated heart rates because of the caffeine which can then result in higher blood pressure, dizziness, and nausea. Just 1 cup a day is okay.
Breastfeeding mothers may drink but in controlled amounts. It is important to monitor how your caffeine intake affects your baby and watch for signs like increased fussiness or wakefulness. One cup a day should be okay.
Coffee is unsuitable for babies under the age of 11 months.
